Bjorn + Brittany {Family Farm, Iowa Wedding}

One of my favorite things about weddings are the details.  The details are what make your wedding "yours". One of the best ways to achieve this, is incorporating DIY projects and meaningful reasons for why & what you choose.  Bjorn and Brittany accomplished this 100%! You may remember this adorable couple from their "VW Bus" e-session: http://www.jeffreysampson.com/blog/?p=1372

Brittany & Bjorn knew what they wanted; very earthy, natural, and laid back. Everything was DIY & custom made.  Including her wedding dress! We are HUGE fans of backyard wedding celebrations!  Both their ceremony & reception were held on Brittany's family farm in Iowa.  The vibes at these kinds of weddings are just our style;  Joyously happy, organically beautiful, and truly meaningful. It's hard to top sentimental value!  Another wonderful thing about family farms in Iowa...awesome photo ops in gorgeous soybean fields at sunset. : ) Congrats Bjorn & Brittany!  Thanks for allowing us to share your day with you.

xoxo,

Val

Ashley & Nick {Okoboji, Iowa Wedding}

Bright & bold colors, a bubbly couple, beautiful details, an outdoor ceremony, and a party boat!  This is the recipe for a FUN wedding!! Ashley and Nick are the definition of "modern wedding couple".  They took a lot of wedding traditions and added a personal twist.  One of my favorites was their alternative to the traditional "dollar dance".  Instead, they had a raffle!  Nick and Ashley are die hard Iowa Hawkeyes & Minnesota Vikings fans.  So was everyone else at the wedding.  They had their wedding party go around throughout the evening selling raffle tickets to a few different prizes.  The prizes being: tickets to a couple Hawkeye & Vikings games.  End result?  Win, Win for everyone!  : )

It's always a refreshing change of scenery for us when we head to Okoboji for a wedding!

xoxo,

Val
